I had my PTSD reevaluation CP today with a VA Pyschiatrist it lasted about 20 or so minutes he started out by saying Ive reviewed your records and we wont discuss your in service stressor event because that is well established also I saw that you were awarded a CABHe asked me about my marriage my social interactions and what type of work I did before I was in the military. You have a permanent disability.

When VA schedules you for a reexamination it is imperative that you attend.

Combine the VA Form 21-4138 and all additional information youve assembled and mail both to your VA Regional Office. Typically the VA will order a reexamination if evidence indicates that there has been a material change in the disability since the last examination or if the veterans disability is likely to improve. A report by VAs Office of Inspector General says employees required veterans to undergo unwarranted medical reexaminations to continue getting benefits in over one-third of the cases studied. To request an increased rating after your disability worsens all you need to do is write a letter to the VA regional office stating you believe an increase is needed and providing medical evidence to support an increase. If you have a disability that is considered permanent in nature this means that VA is reasonably certain based on medical evidence that the level of impairment will continue for.
